Timothy “Tim” Hightower is a former NFL running back, entrepreneur, and speaker known for one of the most inspiring comeback stories in professional sports. After a promising start to his NFL career, Tim was sidelined for four years due to a devastating knee injury and life-threatening infection. Defying the odds, he returned to the NFL through sheer determination, faith, and a holistic commitment to health—becoming the only player in league history to return after a four-year absence.

  • Today, Tim serves as the Senior Director of Alumni Relations for the Washington Commanders, where he helps connect the team’s storied legacy with its future. He is also the founder of Hightower Global Sports Ventures, a purpose-driven company focused on youth sports, community development, and leadership. Its flagship initiative, RVA Under the Lights, is a co-ed and all-girls flag football league created to “Raise the Standard” by instilling values, building confidence, and expanding access to play.
