He is the co-host of Hard Fork, a weekly podcast about the future of tech, and the creator of Rabbit Hole, an investigative audio series exploring internet culture and online radicalization.

Roose is the bestselling author of three books, including Futureproof: 9 Rules for Humans in the Age of AI, and is currently working on a fourth about the race to build artificial general intelligence.

Before joining The New York Times, he was a writer at New York magazine and co-hosted Real Future, a documentary series on technology and innovation.
